Head of Financial Crimes Compliance – UAE & Qatar

About the role

Bank of America is seeking a senior leader to head Financial Crimes Compliance across the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. Based in Dubai, the role will oversee anti‑money laundering, counter‑terrorist financing, sanctions and anti‑bribery compliance for the region’s banking and markets activities.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for all UAE and Qatar regulated entities.
• Implement and maintain the global Financial Crimes compliance framework locally.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to local AML, CTF, sanctions and anti‑corruption laws.
• Coordinate with the Global Financial Crimes Programme and regional executives on policy rollout.
• Lead investigations, reporting and remediation of financial crime incidents.
• Provide guidance and training to business units on compliance obligations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in financial crimes compliance within banking or capital markets.
• Proven track record as an MLRO or equivalent senior compliance role.
• Deep knowledge of UAE and Qatar regulatory requirements.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Expertise in anti‑money laundering (AML) and counter‑terrorist financing (CTF) regulations.
• Understanding of economic sanctions and anti‑bribery/anti‑corruption frameworks.
• Ability to interpret and apply local financial crime laws.
