Head of Government and External Affairs – Oman & UAE

About the role

The Head of Government and External Affairs will act as the senior representative of 44.01 in Oman and the United Arab Emirates. You will build and maintain high‑trust relationships with ministries, regulators, project partners and local communities, ensuring the company’s activities are well understood and supported. The position focuses on external representation, regulatory navigation and permitting support, without direct operational or P&L responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison for 44.01 with government entities, regulators and community stakeholders in both Oman and the UAE.
• Represent the company in high‑stakes meetings, site visits and public events, providing briefings and context to senior leadership.
• Travel regularly between the UAE and Oman to maintain a physical presence and nurture relationships.
• Monitor regulatory and political developments, flagging opportunities and risks early to the executive team.
• Coordinate follow‑up actions from external engagements to ensure consistent messaging and timely execution.
• Partner with Project Delivery to facilitate permitting, highlighting external blockers without making technical decisions.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date stakeholder map and engagement cadence.
• Support the Commercial team in business development discussions across both markets.

Required profile

• Fluent in Arabic and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven experience in government relations, public affairs or external stakeholder management within the Middle East.
• Willingness to travel frequently between Oman and the UAE.
• Ability to work independently, influence senior officials and provide clear, timely escalations.
