Head of Inclusion - Female

About the role

The Head of Inclusion leads the school’s Special Educational Needs (SEN), English as an Additional Language (EAL) and Gifted & Talented programmes. Reporting directly to the Principal, this senior leader ensures that every learner with identified needs receives high‑quality, personalised support.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain a register of all students with specific educational needs.
• Develop, monitor and review inclusion policies and procedures.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the SEN provision, including budgeting and resource allocation.
• Track progress of targeted students in collaboration with teachers and team leaders.
• Collect and analyse student data to inform interventions.
• Conduct individual assessments and support the development and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Design and coordinate intervention programmes and ensure effective implementation.
• Mentor and induct new staff, and line‑manage inclusion assistants.
• Provide training and coaching to classroom learning assistants.
• Maintain communication with parents, external support services and school leadership.
• Ensure appropriate exam and assessment accommodations are in place.
• Support enrolment, admissions assessments and resource management.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in SEN, EAL or gifted education.
• Strong knowledge of UK/International inclusion frameworks and best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and allocate resources effectively.
• Experience in data‑driven decision making and progress monitoring.
