Head of Inclusion (Immediate Start)

About the role

The Head of Inclusion will lead the inclusion strategy at Al Shohub Private School, a British‑curriculum primary school in Abu Dhabi. Reporting to senior school leadership, this role ensures high‑quality support for students with special educational needs (SEN) and promotes an inclusive culture across the school.

Key responsibilities

• Encourage and promote inclusion across the school at all levels.
• Serve as an exemplary classroom teacher while guiding staff on SEN and inclusion practices.
• Liaise with colleagues from other schools, external agencies, and professionals.
• Line‑manage staff employed to support children with special needs.
• Maintain accurate records, IEPs, and coordinate care plans.
• Provide induction and training for the Inclusion team and assistants.
• Participate in admissions, evaluations, assessments, and transitions of students with SEN.
• Prepare documentation for submission to ADEK and other educational bodies.
• Maintain SEN registers and rigorous data on progress, attainment, and provisions.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with a SEN qualification (Master’s level or external certification).
• Minimum of 5 years experience leading inclusion or special education initiatives.
• Strong understanding of Emirati values and ADEK regulatory requirements.

Required skills

• Developing high‑quality Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and intervention plans.
• Leading a special education or inclusion team.
• Implementing strategic initiatives for inclusion.
• Administering standardized assessments.
