Head of Legal Operations

About the role

As the Head of Legal Operations at Kempinski Hotels, you will act as a strategic advisor, delivering high‑level legal guidance across a diverse global portfolio that includes hotel and residence management agreements, M&A, real estate, finance, intellectual property and international dispute resolution. You will play a pivotal part in safeguarding Kempinski’s interests while supporting the brand’s expansion in both emerging and established markets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice across the global portfolio covering hotel and residence management agreements, M&A, real estate, finance, IP and dispute resolution.
• Lead the drafting, review and negotiation of complex contracts, including Hotel & Residences Management Agreements, technical services agreements and franchise contracts.
• Advise on corporate governance matters, corporate secretarial duties, joint ventures and international entity management.
• Manage external counsel worldwide for litigation, arbitration and labor disputes, ensuring cost‑effective and favourable outcomes.
• Support asset management by handling real estate transactions, leasing and construction legalities for new hotel developments.
• Oversee the global trademark portfolio and advise on marketing, IP licensing and sponsorship agreements.
• Lead a dedicated legal operations team of four professionals.

Required profile

• Minimum of 96 months (8 years) experience in legal operations or related legal functions.
• Demonstrated experience leading a legal team and managing cross‑border legal matters.
