Head of Legal (UAE)

About the role

This senior leadership position is responsible for overseeing the Group's legal function and providing strategic legal guidance to executive management across the business. The role reports directly to the CEO and works closely with senior leaders to shape legal strategy for a diversified business group operating in multiple sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the principal legal advisor to the CEO and executive leadership on significant legal and commercial matters.
• Provide strategic oversight of corporate transactions, restructuring initiatives, and major contractual negotiations.
• Lead the Group's legal risk management framework, ensuring key risks are identified, mitigated, and escalated appropriately.
• Oversee complex litigation, arbitration, disputes, and manage external legal counsel.
• Develop and lead a high‑performing legal team, driving consistency in legal practices across all group entities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB or equivalent); postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
• Licensed to practice law in the UAE jurisdiction.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive legal experience, including senior leadership responsibilities.
• Extensive expertise in UAE corporate, commercial, labour, and regulatory law.
• Proven track record advising senior executives on complex transactions, litigation, governance, and legal risk matters.
