Head of Physical Education – Secondary School

About the role

The Head of Physical Education for the secondary phase at Yasmina British Academy will lead the department in delivering an outstanding English‑curriculum PE programme. Reporting to the Principal, the role starts in January 2027 and is based on the Abu Dhabi campus.

Key responsibilities

• Set the strategic vision for the Physical Education department, analyse performance data and drive continuous improvement.
• Develop and implement curriculum plans that achieve high I/GCSE and A‑Level results.
• Lead recruitment, appraisal, professional development and wellbeing of PE staff.
• Promote the department through marketing activities to raise its profile and increase student participation.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, child protection, safeguarding and equal‑opportunity policies.
• Maintain the academy’s dress code, computer Acceptable Use Policy and other internal regulations.
• Participate in the school’s performance management cycle, setting challenging targets and reviewing outcomes.

Required profile

• Demonstrated alignment with the academy’s core values of excellence, respect, passion, collaboration and creativity.
• Deep understanding and appreciation of the cultural values of the UAE region.
• Proven experience in leading a secondary‑school Physical Education department or equivalent.
• Strong commitment to student achievement and a high‑quality learning culture.
