Head of Risk (Market, CCR and Clearing)

About the role

The Head of Risk will lead oversight of market, counter‑party (CCR) and clearing risk across the firm’s cross‑asset platform. Reporting to senior management, you will provide forward‑looking analysis, drive governance and ensure the business is prepared for stress events.

Key responsibilities

• Shape and evolve portfolio‑level risk oversight, including centrally cleared activity.
• Deliver forward‑looking analysis to surface concentrations, emerging vulnerabilities and structural weaknesses.
• Coordinate clearing and margin risk, ensuring transparency, optimisation and governance.
• Conduct targeted reviews and thematic assessments in response to market developments or stress events.
• Translate desk‑level insights into senior‑management viewpoints and strategic recommendations.
• Lead preparedness initiatives for counterparty stress and close‑out scenarios.
• Produce executive‑level risk insight through automated reporting and analytics.
• Partner with independent risk functions to strengthen first‑ and second‑line alignment.
• Represent the business in regulatory interactions, risk committees and firm‑wide governance forums.
• Influence internal risk infrastructure, data standards and reporting architecture.

Required profile

• Current Front Office Risk Management experience in a trading house or investment bank.
• Extensive senior‑level experience in market or counterparty risk control within a global markets environment.
• Strong credibility with senior stakeholders and ability to distil complex issues into clear, decision‑oriented messaging.
• Advanced analytical mindset with experience leveraging data automation and visualisation.
• Proven track record of leading cross‑functional initiatives and influencing outcomes.
