About the role
We are seeking an outstanding Head of Secondary to lead the secondary campus of our well‑reputed British curriculum school in Dubai. The successful candidate will drive academic excellence, oversee day‑to‑day operations, and champion the school’s vision and mission.
Key responsibilities
- Autonomous leadership of the Secondary School, reporting to the Principal.
- Uphold the school’s vision and mission and support the Principal in elevating the school.
- Contribute to strategic leadership as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
- Accountable for day‑to‑day operations and all academic affairs of the secondary wing.
- Develop and monitor school improvement plans and self‑evaluation of teaching and learning.
- Supervise instructional programmes, evaluate lesson plans and regularly observe classes.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of best‑practice pedagogy in secondary education.
- Maintain effective discipline and attendance systems consistent with school values.
- Exhibit the highest ethical and professional standards with students, parents and stakeholders.
- Foster a learning environment that drives continuous academic and holistic improvement.
- Design innovative, engaging and challenging learning experiences for the leadership team.
- Align teaching, learning and assessment practices with performance improvement standards.
- Integrate UAE cultural guidelines in line with national agenda parameters.
- Oversee e‑learning strategies to ensure high engagement.
- Liaise with Curriculum and Assessment teams on curriculum development and data triangulation.
- Prepare supporting information for KHDA inspections and audits and coordinate with governing bodies and DSIB inspectors.
Required profile
- Proven turnaround leadership competencies with a successful track record.
- Strong ethical and professional behaviour when interacting with all stakeholders.
- Comprehensive knowledge of best‑practice secondary pedagogy.
- Ability to supervise instructional programmes and evaluate teaching quality.
- Experience in developing school improvement plans and self‑evaluation processes.
- Commitment to fostering a holistic, high‑achievement learning environment.
