Head of Tactical Trading

About the role

We are partnering with a global trading firm to create a brand‑new tactical trading capability from the ground up. The role sits on top of an existing institutional execution stack and focuses on strategy and risk rather than infrastructure. You will lead the design of the team, risk framework and semi‑systematic trading processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement repeatable, rules‑based trading setups across multiple asset classes.
• Size and risk‑manage positions using discretionary judgement while leveraging the firm’s execution platform.
• Define the team structure, hiring plan and risk framework as the capability scales.
• Address complex flow‑driven challenges such as basis risk, orthogonal signal conflicts and cash‑derivative unwind decisions.

Required profile

• 10+ years of trading experience at a proprietary trading firm with a proven short‑horizon, positional track record.
• Demonstrated ability to layer discretionary sizing on top of a rules‑based process.
• Comfort with designing risk frameworks and leading a new trading desk.

• Base salary between $300,000 and $450,000 per year plus performance bonus.
