Hostess – Guest Service

About the role

The Hostess greets and seats guests at Aloft Hotels, ensuring a welcoming first impression and smooth flow through the dining area. You will support the food‑and‑beverage team by maintaining clean, organized seating and assisting guests with any special needs.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests, determine party size and escort them to appropriate tables.
• Pull out chairs, place menus, and ensure each setting includes a napkin, clean silverware and any required items.
• Arrange tables and chairs for groups with special requirements.
• Monitor dining room for seating availability, safety and guest well‑being.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas using clean‑as‑you‑go procedures.
• Check menus for current, clean and wrinkle‑free copies.
• Follow company safety, security and uniform policies.
• Answer telephone calls with professional etiquette.
• Support team goals and maintain positive working relationships.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior related work experience required.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods.
• Capability to lift, carry or move objects up to 10 lb without assistance.
