Hostess – Izakaya Japanese

About the role

We are seeking a friendly and professional Hostess for our Izakaya Japanese restaurant at JW Marriott Marquis Dubai. The role involves greeting guests, managing seating arrangements, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere throughout the dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests, determine party size and escort them to their tables.
• Seat guests, pull out chairs, place clean menus and ensure proper place settings.
• Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, practice clean‑as‑you‑go procedures and keep menus tidy.
• Monitor the dining room for seating availability, safety and guest well‑being.
• Follow all company safety, security and uniform policies and report any incidents.
• Answer telephone calls with professional etiquette and assist guests with inquiries.
• Stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift objects up to 10 lb without assistance.
• Support team members, uphold confidentiality of proprietary information and perform other duties as requested by supervisors.

Required profile

• Professional appearance with a clean and tidy uniform.
• Clear and courteous communication skills in English.
• Ability to stand for long periods and handle physical tasks such as lifting up to 10 lb.
• Commitment to follow safety procedures and maintain a secure environment.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a willingness to support colleagues.
