Hostess – Restaurant & Bar

About the role

Join the Sofitel Dubai The Palm team as a Hostess, welcoming guests to a premier beachfront restaurant and bar. You will be the first point of contact, ensuring a smooth and memorable dining experience for every visitor.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the dining room layout, table numbers, capacity and reservation procedures.
• Answer telephone calls promptly, record and confirm reservations or cancellations, and communicate changes to management.
• Prepare and organize the hostess stand, menus, and check folders, keeping them clean and stocked.
• Review the reservation book, pre‑assign tables, and accommodate special requests.
• Greet guests at the entrance, seat them according to the floor plan, and present menus.
• Monitor waiting lines during peak periods and adjust procedures to minimise guest wait times.
• Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly, and ensure overall satisfaction throughout the shift.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or diploma in Hospitality or Tourism management (preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years experience in hotel or restaurant operations.
• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in handling telephone reservations and using reservation software.
• Strong organisational skills for managing tables, seating plans and guest flow.
