Hotel Mechanic – Maintenance & Repairs

About the role

The Hotel Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within the property. Working closely with guests and internal teams, you will address repair requests promptly and perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment running efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance issues with minimal supervision.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of tools and equipment.
• Visually inspect tools, machinery, and MEP systems; identify and operate shut‑off valves.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies; requisition items as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and issues to subsequent shifts using approved procedures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and plumbing diagrams.
• Execute complex repairs on HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and pool heating systems while complying with local and national codes.
• Apply Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Utilize engineering software for preventive maintenance, energy management, and building management systems.
• Train and mentor junior staff on technical procedures.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical aptitude with above‑average engineering operations skills.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with guests and team members.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and schematics.
• Knowledge of local safety standards and building codes.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in shift handovers.
