HSE Engineer

About the role

The HSE Engineer will monitor health, safety and environment performance across ADNOC Group Companies, ensuring operations and plant assets comply with ADNOC HSE standards, policies and procedures. The role acts as a focal point for HSE management system implementation and supports functions and personnel in achieving safe operations.

Key responsibilities

• Review reports and feedback from Group Companies to provide timely HSE support.
• Monitor HSE compliance and conduct high‑impact inspections for equipment installation, asset start‑up, loading, off‑loading and shutdown activities.
• Facilitate understanding and communication of the HSE Management System and Codes of Practice.
• Update purchasing standards to ensure equipment and materials meet safety codes and latest technology.
• Develop safety programmes, manuals, hazardous area instructions and safety communications.
• Prepare and maintain inspection checklists and schedules for hazard assessments.
• Participate in HSE studies such as Impact Assessments, HAZOP, HAZID, Root Cause Analysis and Risk Assessments.
• Audit projects and initiatives to ensure continuous HSE development.
• Analyse incidents, recommend corrective actions and follow up on implementation.
• Investigate accidents as directed by HSE management.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in HSE engineering or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of HSE standards, inspection procedures and risk assessment methodologies.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical information clearly.
