HSE Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a qualified HSE Engineer with ADNOC approval to join our Abu Dhabi team on a major Oil & Gas EPC project. The role supports the implementation of health, safety and environmental programs and ensures compliance with ADNOC regulations and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of HSE professionals, including engineers and officers, to deliver HSE objectives on‑site.
• Maintain and apply the HSE Management System and relevant legislative requirements.
• Conduct audits, permit‑to‑work (PTW) and risk assessments, and develop HSE plans and emergency response procedures.
• Analyse incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor H2S hazards and enforce control measures while communicating effectively in English.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or HSE discipline from an accredited institution.
• NEBOSH IGC or equivalent certification approved by ADNOC.
• Lead auditor certification for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Minimum 15 years of experience, including at least 3 years in a lead HSE role on oil & gas, petrochemical, construction or commissioning projects.

Required skills

• NEBOSH IGC (or equivalent).
• ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 lead auditor competence.
• Incident investigation and root‑cause analysis techniques.
• Permit‑to‑Work (PTW), Work‑Method Statements and risk assessment expertise.
• Emergency response planning and H2S hazard control.
