HSE Officer

About the role

The HSE Officer will lead the implementation and monitoring of health, safety and environmental standards across BG Group project sites in the UAE. The role ensures compliance with local regulations, company policies and supports project teams in maintaining safe working conditions throughout all phases.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor BG Group HSE policies in line with UAE HSE laws, Dubai Municipality, Trakhees and DDA requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits and toolbox talks, identify unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are closed promptly.
• Prepare, review and control Risk Assessments, Method Statements, JSA/JHA and RAMS for construction activities.
• Oversee high‑risk tasks such as work at height, lifting, scaffolding, excavation, hot work, electrical work, confined spaces and site traffic, ensuring proper controls and PPE.
• Manage Permit‑to‑Work, housekeeping, fire safety and emergency preparedness on site.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near‑misses, determine root causes and maintain accurate HSE records.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance and coordinate with engineers, supervisors and project managers to resolve safety issues.
• Control environmental aspects including waste, dust, noise, chemical storage and spill prevention.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly HSE reports and KPI updates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in UAE construction, design‑build, fit‑out or luxury villa projects.
• Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and Dubai authority requirements.
• NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent certification highly preferred.
• Valid UAE driving licence and own vehicle.
