HSE Specialist – Offshore Project (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

KBR is seeking an experienced HSE Specialist to join its Project Management Consultancy team for the ADNOC Lower Zakum offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The role will provide expert health, safety and environment leadership across engineering, construction, commissioning and offshore installation activities, ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, UAE regulations and international best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the project HSE Management System and ensure adherence to ADNOC offshore HSE standards.
• Conduct HAZID, HAZOP, SIMOPS, Job Safety Analyses and risk‑assessment workshops.
• Review and approve contractor and subcontractor HSE plans, procedures and risk assessments.
• Maintain compliance with ADNOC permit‑to‑work (PTW) requirements and oversee PTW issuance.
• Perform regular site inspections, behavioral safety observations and audits.
• Lead emergency response planning, incident investigation and corrective action tracking.
• Ensure implementation of Life‑Saving Rules and verification of critical controls during lifting, hot work, confined space entry, working at height, marine, pipeline and wellhead activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of HSE experience in oil & gas, preferably on offshore projects.
• Demonstrated experience with ADNOC HSE standards, ISO 45001 and permit‑to‑work systems.
• Proven ability to lead HAZID/HAZOP workshops and conduct thorough risk assessments.
• Strong knowledge of UAE regulations and international HSE best practices.
