HVAC General Technician

About the role

Reporting to the Duty Engineer or Engineering Supervisor, you will take ownership of HVAC maintenance during your shift, handling troubleshooting, corrective repairs, inspections and preventive maintenance across guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house facilities. You will ensure systems operate safely and comfortably with minimal disruption to hotel operations.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out fault finding and troubleshooting of FCUs, AHUs, FAHUs, ventilation and exhaust fans, chilled‑water systems, pumps, valves, strainers, filters, thermostats and actuators.
• Inspect and maintain coils, filters, drain pans, condensate lines, fan motors, belts, bearings and control components.
• Respond promptly to guest and engineering HVAC requests, resolve temperature complaints, water leaks, noise, airflow and control issues.
• Perform planned preventive maintenance and record work orders accurately.
• Support basic BMS operation and troubleshoot thermostats, room temperature controls and PICVs.
• Undertake minor building repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and silicone/grouting.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years practical HVAC maintenance experience, preferably in hotel or complex commercial facilities.
• Good spoken and written English with clear communication skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving ability, proactive and solution‑oriented.
• Team player able to work independently in a fast‑paced hotel environment.
• Service‑oriented, professional and respectful in guest‑facing areas.
