Hygiene Officer

About the role

The Hygiene Officer will supervise and coordinate all operations to ensure compliance with hygiene and food safety standards within the hotel. The role involves advising on proper food handling, delivering food‑hygiene training to new hires and trainees, identifying risk areas, and providing technical guidance on product labeling to meet government requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily food‑service operations to maintain compliance with hygiene and safety regulations.
• Provide food‑handling guidance and conduct hygiene training for all staff.
• Identify high‑risk areas in food operations and implement pre‑emptive corrective actions.
• Offer technical advice on product labeling to satisfy governmental requirements.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling and employee motivation.
• Follow company safety and security policies, report accidents, maintenance needs and unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and protect confidential company information and assets.
• Address guest service needs and foster positive working relationships among team members.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and perform physical duties such as lifting up to 25 lb.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health or Culinary from an accredited institution.
• 2–4 years of relevant food‑safety or hygiene experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.
• No specific license or certification required.
