I&C Supervisor - Nuclear

About the role

The I&C Supervisor will lead instrumentation and control maintenance during refuelling outages for a nuclear power plant in the UAE, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Directly supervise I&C maintenance teams, overseeing calibration, testing, disconnection/reconnection and corrective maintenance of instrumentation across NSSS and BOP.
• Act as Head of I&C Maintenance in the department head’s absence, manage procurement of calibration equipment, conduct briefings, validate equipment history and ensure traceability to NIST standards.
• Lead troubleshooting, support hot functional and performance tests, and oversee periodic surveillance tests and technical support to other departments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Control, Electronics or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years experience in nuclear or power‑plant I&C maintenance, with strong supervisory and man‑management skills.
• Ability to make complex technical decisions under pressure and thorough knowledge of nuclear safety procedures.

Required skills

• Calibration of pressure, flow, level and temperature transmitters (Rosemount, Foxboro) using Druck or Fluke calibrators.
• Experience with CEDM instrumentation (DRCS, HJTC, RSPT) and RCP I&C systems.
• Knowledge of pneumatic instrument components such as positioners, volume boosters, solenoid valves and I/P converters.
• Proficiency with thermocouple, RTD and speed/vibration sensor calibration, loop checking and post‑maintenance testing.
• Use of process calibrators, signal simulators, decade boxes, oscilloscopes, MS Project or Primavera for scheduling.
