Income Auditor

About the role

The Income Auditor is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all revenue streams within a 5‑star hotel environment. Working closely with the Front Office, Night Auditors and department heads, the role safeguards financial integrity by reconciling daily transactions against supporting documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and verify all reports, checks, vouchers, receipts and paid‑outs from Front Office and outlets.
• Print and reconcile the Daily Revenue Report with supporting documents.
• Audit paid‑outs, allowances and ensure proper approvals are in place.
• Perform number tallies to detect missing checks, receipts or vouchers.
• Audit City Ledger and credit‑card charges before forwarding to Accounts Receivable.
• Review daily Rooms, Food & Beverage revenue summaries and related transaction reports.
• Spot‑check telephone, internet, facsimile and other ancillary revenue sources.
• Validate Banquet, General Cashier and housekeeping discrepancy reports.
• Audit revenue from Gift Shop, Laundry, Business Centre and other operated departments.
• Ensure proper documentation for complimentary rooms, house‑use rooms and rate variances.
• Monitor and guide the Night Audit function to maintain consistent revenue control.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting.
• Proven income/night audit experience, preferably in a 5‑star hotel.
• Ability to interact professionally with department heads.
• Strong numerical and analytical capabilities.
• Team‑player who can mentor night auditors as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using Opera PMS.
• Familiarity with Micros POS.
• Knowledge of SUN back‑office system.
