Indirect Tax Manager

About the role

Etihad Airways is seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Manager to lead global indirect tax initiatives across its group companies. The role combines strategic advisory, compliance, reporting and audit responsibilities, ensuring the airline remains compliant with evolving tax regulations worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor global tax developments and prepare Etihad for regulatory changes.
• Advise business units on indirect tax implications in contracts, operations, overseas branches and commercial activities.
• Manage UAE VAT and other tax compliance obligations, including calculations, filings, payments and documentation.
• Lead tax audits, reviews, disputes, exemptions and risk matters on a global scale.
• Maintain and improve tax policies, internal controls, governance records and reporting processes.
• Support tax transformation projects such as new taxes, technology implementation, ERP integration, e‑invoicing and tax function reviews.
• Provide tax briefings, training and stakeholder support while managing consultants, budgets and procurement.

Required profile

• A recognised accounting or tax qualification.
• 7–12 years of tax advisory and compliance experience, with strong international indirect tax competence.
• Hands‑on experience preparing, reviewing and submitting indirect tax returns.
• Proven ability to interact with tax authorities, manage audits and handle correspondence.
• Experience working in an international, cross‑functional environment, preferably within a multinational or advisory firm.
• Proactive, commercially minded, strong communicator and team player with flexibility to travel as needed.
