Information Security Consultant – Data Classification Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Information Security Consultant to lead the design and implementation of enterprise‑wide data classification and information protection solutions. The role focuses on leveraging Fortra (formerly Titus or Boldon James) technologies to ensure sensitive data is accurately classified, labelled, and secured across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design and architect enterprise data classification and protection frameworks using Fortra/Titus solutions.
• Define taxonomy, metadata schemas, labeling standards, and governance models.
• Integrate classification tools with IAM, Microsoft 365, DLP, and SIEM platforms.
• Develop roadmaps, solution design documents, and implementation standards.
• Configure classification policies, automated labeling, and lifecycle management processes.
• Conduct periodic reviews of classification effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
• Identify gaps in data handling practices and recommend remediation.
• Provide guidance and training on classification policies.

Required profile

• 8‑12 years of information security experience, including 2+ years hands‑on with Fortra/Titus/Boldon James data classification products.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, DLP, metadata management, and regulatory frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC, GDPR, NIST/DoD).
• Experience in highly regulated defence environments and familiarity with ITAR or NATO compliance is a plus.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, CEH, or ISO 27001 implementation are desirable.
