Infrastructure Engineer – Dry Utilities

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to lead the supervision of dry‑utility works on major projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves overseeing electrical, telecom, street‑lighting and associated utility networks, ensuring they are built to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise construction of dry‑utility infrastructure, including ducts, chambers, manholes, cable routes, sleeves and crossings.
• Ensure works follow approved drawings, specifications, method statements and ITPs.
• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs and inspection requests.
• Monitor site progress, quality, workmanship and compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors, authorities, utility providers and other disciplines to resolve technical issues.
• Oversee testing and inspection of dry‑utility networks and secure necessary approvals.
• Identify risks, delays and technical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain records of inspections, progress, RFIs and construction activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in infrastructure and dry‑utility construction.
• Proven experience supervising electrical, telecom and street‑lighting works.
• Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, method statements and ITPs.
• Experience on large‑scale infrastructure projects, preferably in the UAE.
• Excellent communication, coordination and problem‑solving abilities.
