Innovation & Pioneering Expert

About the role

The Innovation & Pioneering Expert will provide subject‑matter expertise and strategic support across pioneering research, knowledge management and innovation initiatives to advance RTA goals and ensure future readiness. The role drives excellence programmes, award participation and partnership labs, measuring outcomes for continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Define vision and strategy for pioneering, research, innovation and creativity aligned with RTA objectives.
• Plan excellence requirements, advise on award participation and co‑develop comprehensive management plans.
• Track global trends, align organisational initiatives and propose actions to secure leadership positions.
• Advise senior leadership, implement research and innovation programmes, and manage the central database for IP, partnerships and projects.
• Develop mechanisms to measure maturity in innovation, research and excellence, and lead implementation of innovation projects.
• Supervise self‑evaluation against excellence standards, analyse results and apply corrective actions.
• Evaluate consultants and service providers, support external research partnerships and strategic research centre relations.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of experience in innovation management, strategic planning or research coordination.
• Proven track record of delivering excellence programmes and managing large‑scale innovation initiatives.
• Strong analytical abilities, stakeholder management skills and capacity to work with senior leadership.
