Inspector I – Quality (Electrical Inspection)

About the role

Petrofac is seeking an Inspector I – Quality (EIT) to support the inspection and testing of electrical installations across its projects. The role involves ensuring that all temporary and permanent electrical works meet the required standards and manufacturer recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and test temporary electrical works and connections to camp facilities.
• Verify installation of supports before cable tray placement.
• Inspect cable tray and conduit installations prior to cable laying release.
• Check underground stub‑ups and cable trench dimensions, including sand bedding.
• Monitor cable jointing and termination processes to ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines.
• Witness insulation resistance, continuity, hi‑pot, and IR tests on cables and equipment.
• Inspect cable segregation, glanding, dressing, and final torquing of terminations.
• Supervise equipment installation at substations, ensuring alignment with manufacturer recommendations.
• Monitor preservation activities for switchgear, transformers, bus ducts, and related equipment.
• Witness torque, ductor, IR, and hi‑pot tests for bus bars, switchgear, and transformers.
• Conduct final inspections of transformers, switchgear, MCCs, bus ducts, batteries, chargers, UPS, and underground earth cables.

Required profile

• Engineer in Training (EIT) designation or equivalent early‑career engineering qualification.
• Ability to follow and enforce manufacturer recommendations during inspections.
