Inspector I – Quality (Mechanical – Static & Rotating)

About the role

Petrofac is seeking an Inspector I – Quality to support mechanical equipment inspection on its Abu Dhabi site. The role focuses on both static and rotating assets, ensuring compliance with client specifications, preservation standards, and quality procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out receiving inspections of mechanical equipment, reviewing preservation records and ensuring proper storage.
• Verify that equipment foundations are released by the Civil QC Inspector.
• Maintain and audit preservation records, ensuring required testing is performed while equipment is in storage.
• Review equipment manuals to determine applicable procedures and ensure all mechanical activities meet client requirements.
• Conduct daily surveillance audits, monitor progress against the project schedule, and report deviations.
• Witness dimensional checks, alignment checks, and bolt torque/tightening/tensioning of bolted connections.
• Facilitate client inspections and verify equipment certification and documentation for validity.
• Supervise quality control during erection, mounting, alignment, and cleaning of rotating and static equipment.

Required profile

• Experience in mechanical inspection on construction or energy projects.
• Familiarity with preservation practices and equipment documentation.
• Ability to work on‑site and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
