About the role

The Instrumentation Specialist I will oversee the technical definition and management of the S‑813 spacecraft payload’s on‑board data handling. Working from supplier selection through design, launch, and in‑orbit operations, the role ensures reliable image formation, compression, formatting and download for the mission.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the technical definition of the S‑813 payload on‑board data management across all project phases, from supplier selection to in‑orbit commissioning.
• Support the Payload Lead, Spacecraft Lead and Operations/Ground‑Segment Lead on all aspects of payload data handling and image formation.
• Review supplier deliverables related to on‑board data management, image ground segment and in‑orbit calibration.
• Participate in program reviews, prepare meeting minutes, and follow up on action items concerning payload data management.
• Attend and contribute to payload data‑management and image‑formation testing, as well as spacecraft and system tests.
• Assist during the in‑orbit commissioning phase, including calibration campaigns and post‑launch operations.
• Provide technical support for acceptance of test reports, tracking pending actions, and supporting the operations team during system operations.
