Interior Site Architect

About the role

John R Harris & Partners – Dubai is seeking an experienced Interior Site Architect to strengthen its supervision team for hospitality projects across the UAE. The role involves overseeing interior construction, ensuring compliance with design intent, and coordinating with clients, contractors, and consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Attend weekly progress meetings and support the Resident Engineer.
• Chair technical meetings with clients, contractors and subcontractors, documenting outcomes.
• Monitor project progress and quality against contract terms.
• Inspect mock‑ups, first‑fix installations and conduct period compliance checks.
• Review and process interior design submittals and respond to RFIs.
• Coordinate and supervise all interior design works on site.
• Evaluate contractor change orders, claims and prepare recommendations for the Resident Engineer.
• Ensure timely response to contractor communications and prepare close‑out documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in interior design or architecture.
• 10‑12 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years as an Interior Site Architect on luxury hospitality projects in the Middle East.
• Strong knowledge of local construction laws, international codes and standards.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Commercial management experience and familiarity with site inspection and snagging processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Revit.
• Proficiency in SketchUp.
