Internal Auditor – QHSE

About the role

Ali & Sons Marine Engineering Factory is seeking an experienced Internal Auditor – QHSE to lead the Group‑wide QHSE auditing programme. You will work across a diversified portfolio, identifying risks, challenging controls and turning audit insights into actionable improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and execute scheduled QHSE and risk‑based operational audits across Group entities.
• Develop audit scopes by identifying relevant internal controls, processes and risk areas.
• Assess the effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls against standards, regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Document audit findings, observations and improvement opportunities clearly and accurately.
• Follow up with management on corrective actions to ensure timely closure.
• Prepare high‑quality audit reports and executive summaries for senior management.
• Identify opportunities for efficiency, effectiveness and cost savings through audit recommendations.
• Support the development and enhancement of audit tools, methodologies, policies and procedures.
• Coordinate special audits, investigations and ad‑hoc assignments with minimal supervision.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of demonstrated auditing experience.
• Certified Internal Auditor qualifications for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001 and ISO 27001 (essential).
• Certification for API Spec Q1 & Q2 (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of QHSE standards, specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience in risk‑based operational auditing, internal controls and compliance assessment.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Valid UAE driver’s licence.
