I&S Teacher - Immediate Start

About the role

GEMS International School, Dubai Hills is seeking an experienced Individuals & Societies (I&S) teacher to join its IB World School community. The role starts immediately and involves delivering inquiry‑based lessons to secondary students while fostering a supportive, inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry‑based I&S lessons that develop critical thinking and curiosity.
• Create an inclusive classroom that supports diverse learners, including EAL, gifted, and those needing additional assistance.
• Differentiate instruction and integrate technology to enhance student engagement.
• Assess and record student progress, using data to inform personalised support.
• Collaborate with colleagues on IB‑aligned curriculum design, resources, and assessments.
• Participate in co‑curricular activities, school events, and community initiatives.
• Build positive relationships with parents and the wider school community.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and uphold GEMS values and the IB Learner Profile.

Required profile

• Degree‑level teaching qualification (B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent) in History, Geography, Politics, International Relations, Economics or Social Sciences.
• Minimum three years of secondary I&S teaching experience, preferably within an IB curriculum.
• Passion for innovative, inquiry‑based pedagogy and a commitment to student growth.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a forward‑thinking, multicultural environment.
