IT Network Specialist

About the role

EDGE’s Advanced Concepts division is seeking an experienced IT Network Specialist to design, deploy, and manage its high‑performance network infrastructure supporting cutting‑edge autonomous systems and munitions development in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Ensure network scalability, reliability, and security aligned with current and future project demands.
• Implement and uphold network security protocols, including NIST 800‑53 and CNSSI 1253 compliance.
• Diagnose and resolve network incidents promptly to minimize downtime.
• Monitor performance and availability using network management tools.
• Perform regular hardware/software updates and maintain accurate asset inventories.
• Lead network‑related projects from planning through execution.
• Collaborate with IT support, other departments, and vendors to address issues and procure solutions.
• Document configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in network security administration.
• At least 3 years managing networks for a mid‑sized organization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA or CCNP preferred.
• Strong knowledge of data classification, least‑privilege access, and encryption technologies.

Required skills

• Configuration and management of routers, switches, NAC, firewalls, and wireless APs.
• Network security protocols (IPSEC, SSL, PKI) and best practices.
• Network monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
• Scripting/automation using Python.
• Understanding of NIST 800‑53, CNSSI 1253, and data classification standards.
