IT Support Engineer (Backfill) – Desktop Support

About the role

We are looking for an experienced IT Desktop Support Technician to join our team in Dubai on a back‑fill basis. You will provide on‑site infrastructure support, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure minimal disruption to end‑users while respecting warranty and security policies.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver field support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
• Perform smart‑hand activities, including installation and troubleshooting of networking equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, and cabling.
• Provide desk‑side PC break/fix and basic administration of Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems.
• Diagnose and resolve network problems using TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and RDP.
• Log and manage incidents via ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Remedy) and conduct repeat‑call analysis.
• Participate in problem management and develop preventive actions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on IT infrastructure support experience.
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Associate degree in Electronics and CompTIA A+ certification preferred; OEM certifications (Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc.) a plus.
• Customer‑focused attitude with the ability to work independently or within a team.
