IT Systems Specialist – Abu Dhabi

About the role

EDGE’s Advanced Concepts division is seeking an experienced IT Systems Specialist to design, deploy, and maintain the core server and operating system environment that supports high‑technology autonomous systems. The role ensures reliable, secure, and high‑performing infrastructure for a mid‑sized organization.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers and operating systems.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Administer databases, ensuring data integrity, backups, and recovery.
• Develop and execute backup and disaster‑recovery strategies.
• Apply OS and application patches and updates.
• Handle change management to minimise disruption.
• Monitor system performance and optimise for high availability.
• Document configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT support staff and other departments.
• Liaise with vendors for purchases, upgrades, and support.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of IT infrastructure administration experience.
• At least 3 years in a system management role for a mid‑sized organization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft Windows Server, CCNA, VCP).

Required skills

• Virtualisation technologies – VMware, Hyper‑V.
• Microsoft Windows Server administration.
• Networking certifications – CCNA.
• Virtualisation certification – VCP.
• Knowledge of NIST 800‑53 and CNSSI 1253 standards.
• Understanding of data classification, IPSEC, SSL, PKI, and least‑privilege access.
