Junior Data Scientist

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Data Scientist to support the delivery of Machine Learning and Generative AI use cases within a regulated banking environment. The role focuses on model documentation, AI governance, and preparing models for Model Risk Management (MRM) review.

Key responsibilities

• Work with large, complex data sets to address business challenges.
• Develop and update ML/GenAI components while ensuring reproducibility, version control, and governed releases.
• Document evaluation results, test cases, thresholds, failure modes, and mitigations for governance and validation.
• Produce and maintain audit‑ready model documentation covering purpose, scope, data lineage, methodology, assumptions, limitations, evaluation evidence, monitoring plan, and change log.
• Support MRM governance deliverables such as Model Charter inputs, Model Inventory updates, and AI risk assessment/tiering evidence packs, including Human‑in‑the‑Loop considerations.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in Data Science, AI/ML; banking experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Statistics or a related field.
• Strong written communication skills to produce clear, structured documentation.
• Experience deploying models on cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) using services such as SageMaker or Vertex AI.
