Junior Engineer (Quantity Surveying)

About the role

GCG Engineering Services is seeking a Junior Engineer specialized in Quantity Surveying to support its projects across the Oil & Gas, Water, Power and Industrial sectors in the GCC region. You will work closely with engineering, procurement and site teams to ensure accurate cost control and commercial compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare quantity take‑offs from drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Assist in preparing BOQs, cost estimates, budgets and tender submissions.
• Review HVAC, mechanical, piping and MEP drawings to determine material and labour requirements.
• Obtain, evaluate and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Verify subcontractor invoices, progress claims and completed quantities.
• Support preparation of client invoices, monthly payment applications and project forecasts.
• Monitor project costs against approved budgets and maintain records of variations and change orders.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, planning, contracts and site teams, including site measurements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost estimation, preferably on Oil & Gas, HVAC, MEP or industrial construction projects.
• Basic understanding of contracts, BOQs, variations and payment certification.
• Ability to read HVAC, mechanical, piping and MEP drawings.
• Strong numerical, analytical and communication skills.
