Junior Pediatric Emergency Medicine Consultant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Consultant to join our private healthcare facility’s Pediatric Emergency Department in Dubai. The role involves delivering high‑quality, timely emergency care to infants, children and adolescents while working within a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, stabilize and manage pediatric patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
• Perform comprehensive history taking and age‑appropriate physical examinations.
• Recognize and treat emergencies such as respiratory distress, sepsis, shock, seizures, trauma, allergic reactions and dehydration.
• Participate in pediatric resuscitation and stabilization of critically ill patients.
• Order, review and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, ECGs and other diagnostics.
• Determine patient disposition – discharge, observation, admission, referral or transfer.
• Document clinical findings accurately and ensure compliance with facility policies and patient‑safety standards.
• Collaborate with pediatricians, emergency physicians, nurses and other specialists.
• Provide supervision and teaching to junior doctors and clinical staff.
• Work shifts covering evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays as required.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS, MBChB or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Pediatrics, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Emergency Medicine or an equivalent specialty.
• Relevant clinical experience in pediatric emergency care.
• Current BLS and PALS certification; ATLS or equivalent preferred.
