Junior Sous Chef – Luxury Hotel

About the role

The Junior Sous Chef will support the Sous Chef and Chef de Cuisine in delivering high‑quality culinary experiences at SLS Dubai, a 5‑star luxury hotel. This position involves daily cooking, staff training, and ensuring that all kitchen operations meet the hotel’s standards for quality, safety, and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Sous Chef in setting and maintaining culinary standards across all kitchen stations.
• Coordinate and deliver training for kitchen team members, motivating them to achieve excellence.
• Prepare a wide range of dishes daily, adapting to business needs and menu changes.
• Inspect incoming fresh food and monitor storage areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Participate in daily and monthly meetings with the Executive Chef team to discuss menus, product specifications, and operational updates.
• Supervise food preparation during service, ensuring presentation and quality meet established standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or in a comparable kitchen role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a multicultural environment.
• Cost‑awareness and basic knowledge of food and hygiene regulations.
• Leadership qualities with a focus on team building and resourcefulness.

Required skills

• Food hygiene and safety certification.
• Computer literacy for inventory management and recipe documentation.
• Knowledge of product specification and standard recipe development.
