Kitchen Supervisor

About the role

The Kitchen Supervisor will lead the daily operations of the kitchen at Aloft Abu Dhabi, ensuring food is prepared, presented, and served to the highest standards. This role combines hands‑on food preparation with staff coordination and inventory management.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and kitchen workers.
• Determine food presentation, create decorative displays, and ensure proper portioning and garnish.
• Monitor food preparation quantities and inform service staff of menu specials and out‑of‑stock items.
• Prepare special meals or substitute items as needed.
• Assist cooks with tasks and provide necessary items.
• Track and maintain stock of kitchen supplies and food.
• Maintain kitchen logs for food safety programs and product specifications.
• Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and coaching employees.
• Follow company safety, security, and uniform policies; report maintenance needs and unsafe conditions.
• Address guest service needs and communicate professionally.

Required profile

• Technical, trade, or vocational school degree.
• 4–6 years of relevant food‑and‑beverage experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb, and perform physical kitchen duties.
