Kitchen Technician

About the role

A hotel in Abu Dhabi is looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Kitchen Technician. The role keeps kitchen equipment running smoothly and efficiently, working with kitchen staff and management to maintain a safe, compliant and productive food service environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and preventive inspections of all kitchen equipment and appliances
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical and refrigeration issues
• Respond quickly to breakdowns and emergency repair requests to minimise downtime
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, equipment status and service history
• Follow safety, health and operational standards and coordinate with kitchen staff on maintenance schedules
• Monitor refrigeration units, ventilation systems and food service equipment
• Assist in installing, testing and commissioning new kitchen equipment
• Manage inventory of spare parts, tools and maintenance supplies

Required profile

• Proven experience in kitchen equipment maintenance, building maintenance or a related technical field
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing commercial kitchen appliances
• Relevant technical certifications (HVAC, electrical, appliance repair or equivalent) preferred
• Reliability, responsibility and strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team, and adapt to changing needs
• Fluency in Arabic and English is an added advantage

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical and refrigeration systems
• Problem-solving and analytical skills for diagnosing complex equipment issues
• Ability to keep detailed maintenance records and documentation
• Physical capability to lift, bend and work in various positions
