Lead Architectural Draftsman – Interior and Fit‑out

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Architectural Draftsman to head a team of draftsmen delivering interior fit‑out and architectural solutions across Dubai. The role bridges the interior design studio and the production floor, ensuring that every drawing meets client, regulatory and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and give final approval on all shop drawings, joinery details and production packages before release.
• Lead, mentor and allocate work for a team of draftsmen across multiple active projects.
• Set and enforce internal drafting standards, layer conventions and quality benchmarks.
• Coordinate with Interior Designers and 3D Visualizers to resolve design‑intent conflicts.
• Review and approve BOQs, material take‑off lists and hardware schedules.
• Supervise site measurement verification and cross‑check structural/MEP conditions.
• Identify and resolve clashes between architectural, MEP and structural drawings before fabrication.
• Manage revision cycles, client feedback and version control to ensure up‑to‑date submissions.
• Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality, Civil Defence and landlord design criteria.
• Act as escalation point for complex detailing issues and support recruitment of new draftsmen.

Required profile

• 7–10+ years of hands‑on drafting experience in interior fit‑out and architectural projects.
• Proven experience leading a drafting team and managing multi‑project workloads.
• Strong knowledge of Dubai building regulations, civil defence and landlord requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to mentor junior staff.
