Lead Auditor – Abu Dhabi

About the role

Remitly is seeking a Lead Auditor for its UAE legal entity, based in Abu Dhabi. The role will head the internal audit function, delivering risk‑based audit engagements across regional and global entities while shaping the audit methodology as the function expands throughout the MEA region.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and operate the internal audit assurance framework for the UAE entity, including continuous monitoring routines and data‑driven techniques.
• Develop the annual audit plan, update the audit universe, conduct risk assessments, and manage budgeting and scheduling.
• Lead end‑to‑end audit engagements: scoping, planning, fieldwork, findings development, and reporting.
• Monitor remediation of audit recommendations, measure effectiveness, and report status to oversight committees.
• Ensure audit findings comply with UAE regulatory requirements and global standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Operations, Product, Engineering and external co‑source partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading internal audit engagements within regulated environments.
• Strong ability to interact with regulators, board members, and senior management.
• Demonstrated capacity to influence the internal audit approach strategically.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills with a focus on risk‑based auditing.
