Lead Automation Engineer

About the role

Rakbank is looking for a Lead Automation Engineer to shape and execute its enterprise‑wide test automation strategy across digital channels, core banking platforms, APIs, mobile applications and integration layers. The role blends hands‑on development with technical leadership to improve test coverage, accelerate CI/CD pipelines and minimise manual testing effort.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and scale automation frameworks for web, mobile, API and core banking systems.
• Build and maintain regression suites that increase coverage, execution speed and defect detection.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and quality gates.
• Lead API, integration, mobile and performance testing initiatives for critical banking applications.
• Define automation standards, coding guidelines and governance across internal and vendor teams.
• Manage test data, environment readiness and automation reporting.
• Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, Product and Quality teams to embed quality early in delivery.
• Mentor automation engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Support RPA testing and continuous improvement of delivery quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 8‑10 years of software testing experience, including at least 3 years leading automation initiatives in banking or financial services.
• Proven track record of delivering enterprise‑scale automation solutions.

Required skills

• Automation tools: Playwright, Selenium, WebDriverIO, Appium, Maestro.
• Programming: Python (PyTest), JavaScript, TypeScript, Java.
• API, integration and performance testing.
• CI/CD platforms: Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab, with containerised and parallel execution.
• Test data management, SQL validation and service virtualization.
