Lead Construction Engineer – Offshore Platform

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Construction Engineer to drive full‑cycle offshore construction execution on multiple platforms for a major oil‑and‑gas client in Abu Dhabi. The role oversees mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works, ensuring compliance with EPC contracts, ADNOC standards and project KPIs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all on‑site construction activities across disciplines, supervising engineers, supervisors, technicians, riggers, fitters, welders, electricians and instrumentation teams.
• Plan, schedule and execute heavy‑lifting operations for compressors, dryers, pressure vessels, pipe spools, transformers, MCC/SWGR panels and skid packages.
• Review and approve lifting studies, rigging plans, crane load charts, deck‑loading checks and engineered lifting procedures.
• Manage marine spread operations using crane barges, jack‑ups and supply vessels to position equipment safely.
• Ensure full compliance with ADNOC lifting guidelines, LOLER, API RP 2D and project HSE standards.
• Provide technical leadership for mechanical alignment, torquing, piping fabrication, electrical and instrumentation installation, and commissioning support.
• Track progress using WBS, Primavera, SAP Maximo and other construction documentation tools.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in offshore platform construction within the oil & gas sector.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams on large‑scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of ADNOC standards, lifting regulations (LOLER, API RP 2D) and HSE requirements.
• Proven ability to manage heavy‑lifting and marine spread operations safely.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
