Lead Contracts Engineer

About the role

The Lead Contracts Engineer will support the General Manager and Legal Director in managing main contracts, sub‑contracts and purchase orders for EPC projects in the oil & gas sector. The role ensures proper administration of insurances, bonds, variations and claims, safeguarding the company's contractual rights.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and administer pre‑ and post‑contract documents, including insurances, bonds, variation notices and claim submissions.
• Coordinate with proposals, sales, procurement and project teams to compile LOA/LOI/sub‑contract documents and participate in negotiation meetings.
• Maintain registers of contracts, bonds, insurance and timelines; raise and release bonds as required.
• Assist Project Managers in drafting claim, extension of time and variation notices, and ensure timely submission to clients.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least 8 years of experience in the oil & gas EPC sector, including 3+ years in the UAE or Middle East.
• Strong knowledge of pre‑qualification processes, main contract award procedures and FIDIC contract principles.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• In‑depth understanding of FIDIC contract terms and construction contract law.
