Lead Design Engineer – HSE (Oil & Gas)

About the role

Descon Engineering Services & Technology is seeking a Lead Design Engineer – HSE to drive safety‑focused design activities within the oil & gas sector in the UAE. The role combines technical design expertise with comprehensive HSE planning to ensure projects meet the highest safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain HSE plans, philosophies, and safety specifications.
• Prepare data sheets, material requisitions, and technical briefs for safety signs and equipment.
• Conduct HSE studies such as HAZOP, HAZID/ENVID/OHID, SIL, HSEIA, QRA, FERA, EERA, and PHSER III reports.
• Generate hazardous area classification schedules and action tracking registers.
• Design fire & gas detection system layouts, cause‑and‑effect diagrams, escape routes, and safety sign placements.
• Engineer fire water & foam spray systems, firefighting equipment specifications, and related P&IDs.
• Specify passive fire protection and fire‑proofing solutions.

Required profile

• Graduate Engineer (any discipline) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Preferable experience with ADNOC projects.
• Hands‑on proficiency with DNV, PHAST, PHA PRO, AutoCAD, and PIPENET.
