Lead Electrical Design Engineer – Global Data Center

About the role

Join Eaton’s Global Data Centre Design & Engineering team in Dubai as a Lead Electrical Design Engineer, shaping reference designs and standards for mission‑critical data centre projects worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical system design for hyperscale and enterprise data centres, covering MV/LV distribution, transformers, UPS, protection and grounding.
• Develop and maintain global electrical reference architectures and engineering standards across IEC and North American codes.
• Prepare technical proposals, calculations, equipment selections and detailed engineering documentation.
• Conduct internal and client‑facing technical meetings and provide mentorship to regional engineering teams.
• Support modular and prefabricated data centre solutions, including BIM‑led workflows and standardised platforms.
• Perform on‑site inspections, validation and commissioning support during project hand‑over.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred) with at least 10 years of design experience in mission‑critical environments.
• Strong knowledge of international electrical codes (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, UL, IEC) and value‑engineering practices.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently while collaborating globally.
• Commitment to safety, quality and environmental responsibility.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit for electrical design.
• Experience with BIM‑based workflows and modular electrical platforms.
• Expertise in MV/LV system design, including distribution, transformers, UPS and grounding.
