Lead Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

Rejlers International Engineering Solutions is looking for a Lead Electrical Design Engineer with extensive experience in refinery and on‑shore/off‑shore oil & gas projects. The role is based in Abu Dhabi and reports to the Head of Discipline – Electrical. You will lead and execute multiple local and international projects while ensuring high‑quality electrical design deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Support the team on process‑industry project design, verify source data and concept drawings, and prepare the Engineering Document Deliverable Register (EDDR) in line with client requirements.
• Prepare and finalize all electrical design deliverables using tools such as SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL), AutoCAD, MicroStation, ETAP, cable‑sizing calculations and lighting design (DiaLux).
• Review vendor documents, generate procurement packages (RFQ, MR, TBE), and ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, IEC and BS codes.
• Coordinate inter‑discipline reviews, obtain client approvals, and participate in E‑HAZOP, HAZID, FAT, SAT and commissioning activities.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (BSc or MSc) with at least 15 years of relevant electrical engineering experience in oil & gas, petrochemical or chemical industries.
• Minimum 8 years in a senior role on FEED and EPC projects, preferably delivered to ADNOC on‑shore specifications.
• Proven experience working with reputable engineering consultants and strong communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
• UAE visa eligibility and alignment with company values of learning, diversity and transparency.

Required skills

• SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL), AutoCAD, MicroStation, MS Office.
• Electrical analysis tools: ETAP, DiaLux, cable‑sizing, relay setting and coordination, CT sizing.
• Knowledge of OHL, GIS, EHT, CP, OLCMS, IPCS, VSD and relevant standards (ADNOC, IEC, BS).
