Lead HSE Technical Engineer – Offshore Project

About the role

KBR is seeking a Lead HSE Technical Engineer to provide specialist health, safety and environment expertise during the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase of a high‑profile offshore oil & gas development in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Embed HSE requirements into FEED deliverables and engineering designs.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure compliance with company, client and regulatory standards.
• Apply Inherently Safer Design (ISD) and ALARP principles to layout, equipment spacing, escape routes and fire protection.
• Lead or support HAZID, HAZOP, SIL/LOPA, QRA and SIMOPS studies.
• Review process safety documentation and integrate risk mitigation measures.
• Ensure alignment with ADNOC, Aramco, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, API, NFPA, IEC and OSHA guidelines.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities to secure design approvals.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HSE engineering for offshore oil & gas projects, especially during FEED.
• Strong knowledge of international HSE standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to conduct and interpret structured HSE risk studies.
